ABOUT US: Splendid Palate is a specialty food and gift business. We specialize in extraordinary gifts and unique, high quality, specialty food products with emphasis on French imports.
The idea for Splendid Palate developed from a passion for fine food and all things French. Founder Kristen Nweeia conceived of the idea while traveling around the Provence region of Southern France. After visiting many small villages for her own enjoyment and exploration, Kristen fell in love with several gourmet delicacies and the traditional manufacturing techniques that created them. When she returned to the United States she felt a craving for many of the products. After concluding an exhaustive search for fine quality, authentic French foods and lavender products within the US marketplace she realized the idea she conceived of while sipping wine and enjoying meals among the Proven�al landscape was a valid one. Splendid Palate was thus born. The business was launched just prior to Christmas 2001 and has since enjoyed bringing the finest French foods and gifts to retail and wholesale customers. As a business, Splendid Palate makes every effort to keep up on trends and endeavors to always offer the finest, most unique and authentic French goods possible.
Splendid Palate was launched with a dozen or so French and lavender products as its core offering, since then it has evolved to handle hundreds of the finest and most deliciously unique products in the marketplace. Endeavoring to offer only the very best and unique products, Splendid Palate sources and imports many of their offerings directly from France. Splendid Palate is the exclusive importing and distributing agent for several exciting and stylish French product lines.
Having garnered a reputation for carrying often hard to come by, unique and unexpected items, Splendid Palate's business quickly grew to include corporate clients around the United States and Canada, including highly regarded Fortune 500 companies. Splendid Palate acts as a gift concierge to its corporate and luxury clients, often designing highly specialized gifts, tracking down products of interest and contributing to overall marketing campaigns with branded products and packaging. Splendid Palate products have been purchased for the staff and clients of major financial institutions, museums, celebrities and royalty.
Our tagline is food, fun and history; most people wonder where the history comes in. Being long-time lovers of food, fun and history, it was a natural progression for us to find a way to focus our interests. GIFT-WRAP:
At the time of check out you will have the option of selecting 'gift-wrap' for an additional $4.25/item. Our gift packaging ranges from clear or patterned cellophane to boxes covered with decorative papers. The gifts are finished with tissues and/or paper/wood shreds and ribbon. Please be aware that our gift-wrap does not always mean the contents of the gift will be completely concealed from the recipient. Instead we will make sure they are creatively decorated in good taste and celebration for the recipient to joyfully unwrap. Items contained in the 'Gourmet Gifts' and section already include basic gift wrap. When the option of 'gift-wrap' is selected for these items, additional touches of tissue and/or ribbon and/or special occasion garlands will be added to make the packages even more special.
RETURNS:
Due to the nature of the products we offer, returns will only be accepted within 7 days of delivery (dates confirmed by our shipping agents) and must reference the original order number. If you wish to return an item, please contact us prior to shipping anything back, for proper authorization. No returns will be processed without such authorization, no exceptions.
If items are returned sealed in their original packaging, completely in-tact and in resaleable condition, a refund (to original purchase method) or exchange will be offered. If an item is open, but proven to be defective, we will work to replace it. If a replacement is not available, we will offer a refund (to original purchase method) or exchange. Any additional services, upgrades and free gifts attached to the order will be taken into consideration when returns are made, as necessary deductions for such services, upgrades and gifts may be made prior to any amount being refunded or credited.
Items sold as gift baskets or collections must be returned in their entirety, including the basket, pail or other container they were originally packaged in. No individual items may be removed or exchanged separately unless an item is found to be defective. If an item is found to be defective we will work to replace it. If replacement is not possible we will offer a substitution or a refund (to original purchase method) for that specific item.
Wedding and event favors are made to order and as such are not returnable. Custom* and personalized orders of any kind are not returnable. *This excludes the 'make your own gift basket' option, which must adhere to the gift baskets return policy mentioned preiously.
No shipping costs will be refunded for products returned to The Splendid Palate.
REFUSED SHIPMENTS/DELIVERY FAILURE DUE TO LACK OF AVAILABILITY: Any shipments that are returned to Splendid Palate by shipping carriers due to: refusal of delivery; incorrect address supplied by customer; undeliverable address or delivery failure due to lack of availability on recipient's part will not be automatically refunded. Refunds that are requested and approved by management will automatically incur the following deductions: 30% restocking fee and no shipping and handling charges will be refunded. There are absolutely no refunds on International orders that are undeliverable. If the customer wishes for the order to be re-shipped, a second shipping charge will be billed equivalent to actual shipping charges or published shipping charges, whichever is greater.
